The TAG Heuer 2000 – in any of its designs – is my favorite watch of the decade because I think it's both a mirror and echo of the style of the times. They were able to offer something new that filled a void in the current line-up, while also relying on a much-loved watch from their past, as a jumping off point. The dial is also a bit worse for wear, but in the kind of way that vintage lovers connect with as character from age. I think a buyer comfortable with this size and condition could build an amazing and interesting collection with a watch like this.

If we zoom out, even to the point of ignoring the specific car cult to which each of these Breitlings is connected, we find a quartet of welcomely improved chronographs that effectively capture the Top Time's classic and colorful chronograph vibes while offering a desirable upgrade in terms of the movement. The watch is powered by the Heuer Calibre Heuer 02 manufacture movement and features a vertical clutch, column wheel, and 80 hours of power reserve. At just over $6k, it is the most affordable of the bunch while still offering a ton by way of design, history, and movement technology. Plus, aside from the blue and red, it also has some yellow flourishes! That's one more primary color than the Zenith by my count.
